How Mind Body Spirit Release™ Transformed My Pregnancy Experience

Pregnancy is one of the most beautiful and sacred seasons in life—but let’s be real, it can also be incredibly overwhelming, both emotionally and physically. I know that firsthand. Each of my pregnancies brought its own challenges, but it wasn’t until my third that I truly experienced what it felt like to move through pregnancy with trust, calm, and emotional balance.

And it all changed because of Mind Body Spirit Release™ (MBSR).

I want to share my story—not just because it was a turning point in my own journey, but because I wish I had known about this powerful tool sooner. Every woman deserves to feel supported and empowered during pregnancy, and I truly believe MBSR can make all the difference.

My First Pregnancy: Anxiety, Fear & Constant Monitoring

Before I even became pregnant with my first child, I had suffered a miscarriage just three months prior. That loss left a deep emotional imprint, and by the time I was pregnant again, the fear and anxiety were already there. I constantly felt like I was waiting for something to go wrong.

Because of that, I was monitored far more times than I wish I had been. Every little thing sent me into a state of worry, and I felt like I was always bracing for bad news. Even though my pregnancy was technically healthy, I carried a constant undercurrent of fear that I just couldn’t shake.

And looking back, I now understand how much my emotional state wasn’t just affecting me—it was also affecting my baby.

The Emotional Impact on Baby

One of the most profound realizations I’ve had in my work (and through my own experience) is that babies in the womb absorb the emotions we carry. The stress we feel, the fear we hold onto, the anxiety we try to push down—our babies feel it too.

I can’t tell you how many conversations I’ve had with moms who say their firstborn is the most fearful, cautious, and anxious of their children. And I truly believe that’s no coincidence. So many first-time moms are carrying an incredible amount of stress, fear of the unknown, and pressure to “do everything right”—and those emotions don’t just disappear. They stay in the body. And baby feels it too.

My Second Pregnancy: More of the Same

With my second baby, I still experienced frequent contractions and extra monitoring. And even though I had been through pregnancy before, that sense of hyper-vigilance never really left me. I still didn’t fully understand just how much my emotional state was impacting my nervous system—and my entire pregnancy experience.

My Third Pregnancy: Facing a New Challenge with a New Approach

At 20 weeks pregnant with my third baby, I was hit with a diagnosis I never expected: an incompetent cervix. I was just 1 centimeter away from being put on bed rest for the remainder of my pregnancy. The news could have sent me into a spiral of fear and stress—especially while trying to run a business, care for my family, and plan for maternity leave.

But this time, I had something different in my toolbox: Mind Body Spirit Release™.

Instead of letting fear take over, I used MBSR to release stuck emotions, shift my mindset, and come back into a place of trust, calm, and clarity. I worked on myself consistently, and the transformation wasn’t just mental—it was physical, too.

What amazed me most was how calm I felt for the rest of my pregnancy. Even with a concerning diagnosis, I didn’t feel panicked or overwhelmed. I stayed grounded, in tune with my body, and deeply connected to my baby.

I made it all the way to 32 weeks before deciding to slow down and step back from work—not because I was forced to, but because I trusted my body, my baby, and my timing. That decision—to rest, to honor my body, and to listen to my intuition—was one of the most empowering choices I’ve ever made. And MBSR helped me get there.
